130: Zinfandel US vs Italy
- La Corte Anfora Zinfandel
- Terre del Primitivo Zinfandel
- Four Vines Old Vines Zinfandel
- Limerick Lane Zinfandel
What we know to be Zinfandel in the U.S., the Italians call Primitivo. While both grapes share the same DNA, and thus are the same grape, the wines produced are drastically different due to the terroir of these two countries. In addition, both countries have made a home for this grape and claim it as their own. The claim that this grape’s origin is from either country is more than unlikely; however each has the knack for producing wines from this varietal that is unmatched around the world.
